Cooper Gilmore is back as a sophomore as La Jolla's number-one. Meanwhile, Maddie Quach also returns to the links in her second year in high school, one of the top three last year.

"I'll have to have you talk to Isabella (Itkin)," said Viking coach Christie Quinn before La Jolla's win over Steele Canyon at La Jolla Country Club Thurs., Aug. 31. Izkin, a freshman, has been playing well in the early going, shooting scores of 45-39-43-43 in her first four nines.

La Jolla, with Isabella leading with a team-best 46 for the back nine, combined for a 262 and the victory Thursday.
