Jordin Morrow is a senior on La Jolla's varsity water polo team. These comments were made before the Vikings' win at Coronado Thurs., Jan. 11.

You're a senior?

Yes.

You start?

Yes.

How many years starting--one or more?

Three.

What's your role this year?

I play set on center, so it's really fun to be in the middle of it all.

It's kind of a physical position?

Yeah, definitely physical position.

That's on offense?

Yes, on offense. So just like telling everybody and being a really good communicator is really important to me.

So on defense where do you play?

I guard the point on top, always helping out.

The outer in the middle (three position)?

Yes.

Besides communication, what's a strength you have?

Honestly, I think communication is my biggest one. Making sure everything happens. But also scoring.

Do you ever do the back shot (demonstrating throwing the ball backward with the right hand)?

Yes, I love that shot. It's always risky, but it's fun.

Overall this season, you have the tournament (San Diego Beaches Jan. 19-20), so you're coming closer to the end of the season?

Yes.

How's that working?

It's really exciting. We've definitely grown as a team together, so that's really fun. We have a lot of really big games coming up toward the end of the season, so that's fun. All the games are all important because of CIF and rankings. So that's good, and we're super stoked for CIF. Playing those will be fun.
