La Jolla went in front 3-0 right from the get-go, jumping to a dominating 8-1 halftime lead that never left the game in doubt as the visiting Vikings smoked Cathedral Catholic in water polo Tues., Jan. 9.

Coach Amy Jennings' squad spread the scoring around, as UC Davis-bound Jordin Morrow, fellow senior Sophia Soltero, and classmate Margo Tempel put in goals in the opening salvo.

The ball distribution went further in the second period as freshmen Aviana Cavaiola  and Cora Pfau solved Don goalkeeper Keira Miles. Cavaiola caged a pair of goals to join Morrow and Tempel as multiple scorers in the first half.

Tommy Corcoran, the Dons' head boys coach working the scorers' table, referred to the fact that the Lady Dons are "rebuilding" at this stage in their program, when discussing the wipeout 8-1 halftime score.

Freshman Cora Pfaul (13) works on offense
against tight Cathedral coverage.
