Austin Mobley is in his third year as head coach of La Jolla girls varsity soccer. He has built a rapport with the girls, obviously, and satisfied their parents who expect high standards from the LJHS soccer program. These comments were made next to the track during the boys varsity soccer game Wed., Jan. 10.

I'll feature a senior. What does Ruby Davis bring to the team?

A lot. She's a really good leader. That's why she's one of our captains. She brings a work rate and a joy to practice everyday that is unmatched.

She seems to have that. She expresses it. You can see it on her face, and greeting people.

Yes. Yes.

That's part of her personality that she gives to the team?

I mean, if you're a good leader, the good things you do are also brought out by the others. She does a very good job of that.
