Viking senior receiver Nick Sebro, listed as 6'0", 155 pounds, caught at least three passes from quarterback Jackson Diehl on the team's first two possessions, the first two for gains of seven and nine yards, respectively, in La Jolla's exercise versus West Hills Sat., Aug. 12.

On the second drive, with the Vikes leading, 7-0, Diehl hit Sebro near the right sideline for a 21-yard touchdown strike on second-and-10 from the Wolf Pack 21. Evan Martin made good on the PAT for a 14-0 lead. La Jolla went on to win the scrimmage, 21-0.

Sebro was asked about his performance during practice Mon., Aug. 14.

Q: How would you rate yourself Saturday night?

I feel like I played pretty good. Probably like a 9 or 10. There's definitely things I could have done better, but I feel like I played pretty good.

Q: You had some good energy.

Yeah.

Q: It seemed like you started things off and helped everybody get going. It's not a one-man job, but you were able to get the energy up.

Me and (QB) Jackson (Diehl) enthusiaze our receivers, like get them energized and (get) the offense going. Like start the drive early and score on the first drive, and keep the energy going throughout the game.

Q: Do you and Jackson have some kind of communication system? Do you feel that you can read each other pretty well?

I feel like we can read each other. We know, like, when to bring that energy up, or bring that energy down. Jackson is really like the main leader, so I just follow him.

Q: That's very humble of you. What are you looking for with Bishop's? (season opener Fri., Aug. 18)

I really want to beat 'em, because after last year how they got us down and they beat us 28-7. So we actually want to just beat them this year and show 'em we're better than them.
