LJHS coach Tom Atwell wasn't kidding when he said, "Have you seen the (Coggan) pool? It's dry," when we encountered each other in mid-July on the school track.
On the school website, ljvikings.com, the boys water polo training schedule lists, "All pool time training will be held at the Bishops School until September 15 (fingers crossed!), weights at LJHS" in all caps.
In what would be the longest boys water polo season on record, the schedule lists "Monday, 9/4 - Memorial Day", instead of Labor Day. Somebody is going to be tired swimming and playing that long. There are practices scheduled that holiday for both varsity and JV/frosh-soph.
