Senior Reid Martin, running back for La Jolla's football team, said at the game Nov. 14 that he feels like he's back--in form--but he does think about his left foot.

"On passing routes, I think, is there another way to do this (without pushing the foot as much)?" he said late in the 54-17 win over Santa Fe Christian, played at Torrey Pines High School.

He said he's also aware of the foot, which had two pins inserted near the big toe last June, while he's carrying the ball on the ground.

He has had 100-yard games recently, including the Santa Fe Christian game, after picking up steam and getting his form and confidence back. He sat out the first six games of the Vikings' season.
