Cooper Gilmore, who was named All-CIF last year for her performance in golf, continues to excel as we continue in postseason competition.

Gilmore, only a sophomore with a sparkling resume already, finished day one CIF golf Mon., Oct. 30, tied with two other prep golfers for ninth place among all entrants. She is carrying a 3.08 differential for the 2023 season, equivalent to her handicap over par.

That's better than shooting a 76 every time she goes out. She shot a 74 Monday. The cream comes to the top in elite competition.

On Thurs., Nov. 2, she has a 10:57 a.m. tee time at Torrey Pines North Course for day two, the final day, of San Diego Section playoffs. In her foursome, she is matched with a golfer from Torrey Pines, Cathedral Catholic, and Bishop's. Those are top programs whose teams all made the postseason tournament--Cooper is playing individually, as La Jolla didn't qualify as a team.
