Mira Mesa, La Jolla's opponent in its season opener just over a month from now, has a brand new coach who is just out of Mary Washington College and new to the classroom.
"In my spare time, I have interests in basketball, surfing, yoga, good food, and thinking games of strategy. Mind, body, and soul," says Jon Pierce, who was born in Southern California and then moved with his family to Northern Virginia, where he grew up.
As an Earth Sciences teacher who just earned his credential from San Diego State, Pierce describes his pedagogical outlook: "My teaching philosophy revolves around the development of well-rounded students, student-athletes, and individuals."
