La Jolla's rugby team, led by "Big Country" John Hartford, who spearheaded a 35-7 thumping of Mission Vista at home in the season opener Jan. 13, had a new match scheduled at Torrey Pines High Sat., Jan. 21, after an away game at Loyola High of Los Angeles Fri., Jan. 20, was cancelled.

The Vikings are also led by Marc Oriol, who was effective in scoring in the opener, and LaDainian "L.T." Roby-Cano. In addition, returner Wyn Smoole provides spectacular runs with his slashing speed in open field.

Marc Oriol kicks a goofy-footed conversion
for two points to give the Vikings
a 14-7 lead in the first half Jan. 13.

Viking Nathan Plaskonos scores on a try,
worth five points, for a 12-7 La Jolla lead
late in the first half.
