Maddie Quach, Matisse Pickett, and Tora Tranheim of La Jolla High travelled to San Marcos High Sat., Jan. 21, to take part in the Queen of the Realm wrestling tournament.

We learned that "Tora", Tranheim's first name, is the female equivalent of the god of thunder, Thor.

Also, a wrestler from Rancho Buena Vista High celebrated her birthday at the tourney with a bevy of birthday balloons and cupcakes for her teammates. (Dad had to secure the balloons on a rail of the stands, after the birthday girl, now in headphones, didn't tie them so well.) Presumably, the cupcakes were for well  after they made weight for the competition.

Longhorn birthday girl, left in headphones. Dad re-ties
helium balloons to rail so they don't fly away.

the upper hand in her first match of the morning.
