Fifth-year assistant coach Victor Zendejas and returning JV coach Jason Diaz ran the second day of tryouts for La Jolla's boys soccer program Wed., Nov. 13, at Muirlands Middle School in the late afternoon.

Their session went into the darkness, with the later school start this year pushing practice start time back to 3:30. It was a remarkable experience watching 50 young hopefuls running sprints and relays for conditioning in total darkness just before 5:00 p.m., save only small lights mounted on the bordering fences projecting some illumination on the workout.
