La Jolla's boys basketball team, suffering through waves of COVID protocol this winter and often playing short-handed, nevertheless raced out to a commanding 27-8 lead at halftime at Mira Mesa High Tuesday evening, Feb. 2.

But the Vikings couldn't hold on, falling to a 56-50 defeat. La Jolla has won four games this winter; the squad, though in seemingly good spirits, is still looking for its first league win.

Senior guard Max Raulston led the Vikings in scoring in the first two quarters with 10 points. "Mad Max" is leading the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game and in rebounding with 8.4 rebounds a game, despite a recurring back issue.

Fellow senior Dylan Posey, 6'5", who plays nearer the basket, is second in both categories: 10.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.
