Centerfielder Travis Lancaster was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning to force in the tying run against visiting Clairemont, and Adam Lafever then drove in the go-ahead run for a 4-3 lead.

But La Jolla could not hold on, wasting a stellar eight-inning effort by senior lefty Abel Delgadillo and losing 6-4 in 10 innings Mon., May 5. Two games against Clairemont remain in the regular season.

Delgadillo said, "I like pitching complete games," as his gem was in progress. He noted his curveball is his bread-and-butter.

Delgadillo, a senior, went eight innings
and left with a pitch limit and the score tied 4-4.
