La Jolla won a narrow 3-2 victory over Westview in the CIF Open Division consolation bracket Tues., April 30, on their home courts at South Mission Beach. Coach Kelly Drobeck's Vikings advance to a third-round matchup at Cathedral Catholic Thurs., May 2. The winner plays Torrey Pines for the division title in the finals at Miramar College Sat., May 4.
The twos, fours, and fives pairs faced off first in the 3:15 p.m. matches. Later, the ones and threes (along with the sixes) took the sand courts.
