With La Jolla tied 35-35 with host Patrick Henry in the fourth quarter, Viking quarterback Jackson Diehl connected with sophomore receiver Hank Hansen on a 60-yard pass play to score the winning touchdown and deliver La Jolla to a 41-35 victory Fri., Oct. 7.

It was Patrick Henry's Homecoming, and LJHS Coach Tyler Roach's squad (now 2-0 in the Eastern League, 4-3 overall) had to put up several points to keep abreast of the pumped-up Patriots, who are coached by first-year mentor Colby Davies and who beat Morse 45-36 two weeks before.

Earlier in the final quarter, Diehl had caught junior receiver Matthieu Princen with a long pass play that covered 52 yards to put the Vikings up 35-28. It was Princen's third TD reception on the night, coming after 7-yard scores in the first and third periods.
