LJ wrestling: Roman, Matisse prep for women's CIF 2/5

Sophomore Ella Roman, at 138 pounds, and freshman Matisse Pickett, 108 pounds, who both wrestle for La Jolla High, go into women's CIF on Sat., Feb. 5, at Mount Miguel High.

Walter Fairley, Jr., a former assistant principal at La Jolla, provided the information at La Jolla's dual meet at Cathedral Catholic High Wed., Jan.. 19.

Looking at his calendar, Fairley, a long-time participant, coach, and administrator in wrestling--who is also a member of the Hall of Fame in those capacities--said, "They'll go to CIF at Mount Miguel Feb. 5."

LJHS head coach Ryan Lindenblatt and assistant coaches Kellen Delaney and Kraig Foreman continue to prep their athletes, including Pickett and Roman, for the City Conference and CIF competitions. The City Conference tournament will take place Jan. 29.
