Local basketball teams are using the three-day Veteran's Day Weekend (Nov. 10-12) for final tune-ups against live competition.
While La Jolla's boys team scrimmaged at Grossmont High Saturday morning, Nov. 10, St. Augustine was traveling to Bosco Tech in Rosemead (Los Angeles County) for an informal game.
Another Viking opponent, Santa Fe Christian, was going to work out against Mission Hills on the same day.
In La Jolla, Coach Nick Levine's Bishop's squad was preparing for a scrimmage in its own gym in a 7 p.m. game that night.
Coach Mike Haupt's Saints also scrimmage Mon., Nov. 12, at Torrey Pines High at 10 a.m.
