Noah Shen, LJ b soccer, after a 2-0 win over Clairemont Fri., Dec. 18 (via Facebook):
EP: Noah, you guys looked pretty good in the win at Clairemont last night. Talk about what is working for you individually and for the team collectively.
NS: I personally like the short game of passing. That has always been my favorite play style and what has worked for me best. So when the majority of the team feels and plays the same way, we end up having good chemistry that leads us to our success.
EP: You're pretty tenacious. Are you a defender? How did you guys keep your cool with some of the shenanigans going on during the game last night? - lots of yellow cards (in the 2-0 win at Clairemont).

NS: On my club team, I play defense the majority of the time. I tried to keep everybody calm and playing their game last night. And once we concentrated on how we played and focused on our style of soccer, we were able to ignore the adversity in the game.
EP: What year are you? What is your club team?
NS: I'm a senior graduating in 2016. I play for Albion Soccer Club.
EP: With you guys having two weeks off from practice after Monday's game (Dec. 21) at Cesar Chavez Middle School, how are you going to keep sharp in the meantime?
NS: Everybody on the team are good soccer players and are clearly passionate about the game. I believe people will find their own time over the break to go out and touch the ball in order to keep sharp. I plan to do the same.

EP: Who is a key player on the team? Elaborate.
NS: Everybody plays a role on the team, so it's hard to pick out a specific key player. But if I had to choose somebody it would be Cesar (Canton, who scored two goals in the win over Clairemont). Being a lone forward, he is our target man and also our main forward. Without him we probably wouldn't have won our past games. Although our entire defensive line has to receive plenty of credit as well. They have kept us in many games, and made sure the team is sturdy and organized.
