Timmy Holdgrafer, the CIF Player of the Year in baseball from La Jolla High in 2015, has left St. Mary's College in Northern California and enrolled at Grossmont College.

Holdgrafer, listed at a wiry 6'1", 175 pounds, is classified as a freshman on the Griffins' 2017 baseball roster. He is assigned uniform number 15.

Meanwhile, Viking teammate Noah Strohl, a strapping 6'6", 235 pounds, is number 40 on the Grossmont roster at his customary first base. Strohl is a sophomore.

Holdgrafer, a right-hander, went 10-1 on the mound as a senior at La Jolla, with a microscopic 0.87 ERA. At the plate, Tim blasted the ball at a .364 clip, in all leading Coach Gary Frank's team to the Division II title game at USD Fowler Park.

He also stole 20 bases in 24 attempts, including a daring theft of home.

Holdgrafer followed his uncle, Jason Green, into the La Jolla High record book to be the only two Vikings to strike out 100 batters in a career.

Noah Strohl (22) is congratulated by teammates at the
plate after his two-run homer in the fourth inning
of La Jolla's playoff win over UC.

The right-handed pitcher/hitter is the only La Jolla High player to be selected CIF Player of the Year.

Holdgrafer set school records for wins in a season, with 10, innings pitched in a season, 88 1/3, and innings pitched in a career, 203 1/3.

He has the second lowest ERA for a season and for a career (1.62). He is also only the second Viking to collect 100 hits.
