Regarding La Jolla High's loss to El Cajon Valley in boys basketball Dec. 3:
Zach Duffy: "Tony (Coan) stood out as someone who made very little mistakes. Also, Ladd (Castellano) coming back for his first full game scoring 19 was a big standout and great to see for the future."
Ladd Castellano: "We showed a couple glimpses of good basketball, but I think we have really got to work on playing a full 32 minutes with amazing energy and focus. The amount of turnovers was inexcusable, including myself. I think that we have enough offense this year, which is great. However, letting up 78 points is also something that is tough to chew. We definitely have to improve our defense if we want to win against good teams."
