According to Coach Tyler Roach's "Football Training Camp Schedule", the Vikings will play a scrimmage at Granite Hills High on Saturday night, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. I'm assuming that would be against Granite Hills, though I don't know that.
The Vikings have quite a rivalry with Christian High, which also plays its home game on the Granite Hills campus. I wouldn't imagine the two teams would meet in a meaningless preseason practice game, giving away valuable information preceding their matchup in Eastern League play several weeks later.
The big event during the first two weeks comes Fri., Aug. 4, when La Jolla players and staff travel up to Big Bear for their annual team camp during the weekend. They will practice Saturday morning, Aug. 5, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. up there, then turn around and practice again hours later from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
They get Sunday off for fun and team-building, then the Vikes finish up with practice with a morning session at Big Bear from 7 to 8:30 a.m. before traveling back to La Jolla that day.
