Through the Vikings' 15-game (7-8), tournament-and-other-preleague-contests part of the season in March and the first week of April, seniors Travis Lancaster and Abel Delgadillo have proved to be the workhorses of the pitching staff.

Lancaster, in particular, with a 2-4 record, has worked a ton of innings, 31 1/3, to the efficiency of a 3.13 ERA.

His lefthanded counterpart, the able Abel (a horrible phrase), carries a spotless 2-0 record at this midway point of the season. The lefthanded curve-baller has clocked 24 innings, and confined his allowed-run rate to a 2.33 ERA.

In Delgadillo's latest effort, a win over Rocky Mountain in day 2 of the four-day Lions Tournament March 31-April 3, he pitched two-run ball over six-plus innings, scattering seven hits. Hank Hansen came in to finish that one up, with a runner on second and two outs.

Lancaster's gem was a 2-0, complete-game win March 21 over Hilltop. He held the Lancers to two hits.
