LJ xc: JV boys rule

burned a 19:03 time over 3.11 miles at Morley Field in leading the La Jolla High JV frosh boys to a third place finish among five Western League schools, the highest finish among the Vikings girls and boys teams Wed., Oct. 26.


Bomberger continued his fine initial season for La Jolla, coming in seventh among 67 finishers in the junior varsity freshman boys race under pleasant skies.


Other finishers for Coach Mandy Benham's runners included Matthew Nunes, 13th, 20:09; Ronald Way, 15th, 20:10; Reese Cruz, 17th, 20:17; and Max Cagnon-Hoiland, 19th, 20:24.


The Viking JV girls had the next highest finish for an LJHS team at the Western League Cluster #3 meet, a fourth place among five teams.

They were led by sophomore Cali Liu in ninth place among 74 competitors in a time of 18:59 over 2.5 miles. Following her were Ixchel Ramirez, 12th, 19:06; Arielle Bark, 21st, 19:43; Socorro Ceniceroz, 38th, 20:54; and McGivney Gartzke, 39th; 21:01. All are sophomores.
