LJ FB: All-star game

By Ed Piper

La Jolla's premier kicker, Trenton Fudge, played in the recent football all-star game and Coach Jason Carter installed the Vikings' speed-up offense with the opposing team.

"Kids love the offense," said Carter, taking a respite on New Year's Eve. He employed elements of the same no-huddle, spread offense he uses with La Jolla. However, no Viking players were on his team's roster in the local event.

Meanwhile, Fudge, a graduating senior who also played receiver for LJHS, attended the Holiday Bowl Wed., Dec. 30, and studied USC's stellar kicker, Ka'imi Fairbairn, who won the Lou Groza Award for top kicker in the nation.
