On the first day of fall tryouts, Coach Tom Atwell had a little tidbit for a reporter:
"Quinn Ruminski and Alex Herzenbach. Both seniors, they're going to surprise people. They were kind of under the radar last year. (This year) they're going to rise up. Their leadership of the team and their play will surprise some people."
Ruminski is an attacker. Herzenbach plays utility.
The Vikings' first action is in the annual Draz Classic at Granite Hills High Fri., Aug. 9 at 3:30 p.m. against Steele Canyon.
"Steele Canyon is an up-and-comer. They have two players who will be in Division 1 NCAA next year," said Atwell as he multi-tasked during the workout at poolside.
