The Pipeline comes back after 36 years of dormancy
The Pipeline comes out of the Clairemont community in San Diego, California. You will see thrills and chills through selected photos from my website, ljhssportsbyedpiper.shutterfly.com. But an additional element will come into the picture (like the pun?) after nine years of photos only--the written word.
The Las Posas School sixth grade spelling champion will militate against spelling (and grammar) errors, and hopefully pen some good sports prose.
For those of you who don't know, my granddaughter Alexis attended and was a cheerleader at La Jolla High, Class of '08. Taking photos with a manual film camera (Minolta SR-T 201) during the football season of Fall 2004 of Alexis and her squad cheering was the beginning of the photo/LJHS connection.
My granddaughter has moved on, but the connection became the photo website in February 2009, after years of emailing photos to athletes, their families, and coaches. Most recently, the La Jolla Light asked this Fall if I wanted to write a story on the Sept. 20 Viking football game against Santa Fe Christian. And here we are.
Enjoy, and blessings of good health for the student athletes, and balance in their studies, family lives, and spirituality.
