La Jolla junior Chiara Dailey won the three-mile Senior/Invite race at the Raven Invitational Sat., Aug. 31, by a considerable margin. Her time of 16:14.20 clocked at over 47 seconds ahead of her closest rival. This isn't new for Dailey, who has been doing this now for the third season in her prep career at LJHS.
From a team standpoint, Viking teammate Allison Gray covered the three-mile distance in the feature race in 18:33.60, good for 31st. Hanna Aalaei, a junior. ran 19:12.20, 48th.
Senior Zoe Dunfee finished the winding grass/dirt/track surface in 20:31.00 (80th place). Zara Griffis, a junior, recorded a time of 21:14.70 (89th).
The La Jolla girls garnered a total of 176 points for eighth place, not too bad for the relatively big annual meet.
