"Jake has shown some good flashes of his potential this year," says Viking head coach Gary Frank of his second baseman, Jake Klimkiewicz. "Klim" recently made the move from third base, which he held down last year as a freshman, to second base, which seems like a good fit. The move allows Cooper McNally to slide over from shortstop to the hot corner, with Noah Brown taking over at shortstop as his arm has recovered fully.

"He (Jake) has shown good power to left field, and has played a solid third base and second base," says his coach.

"He is working on improving his ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field.

"The next step for Jake will be to become a little more consistent in his approach, which will help lead to more consistent success."

Luke Brunette "has a bulldog mentality, and a lot of confidence in his ability," says Frank. "He has played a good right field and first base for us, and has consistently made solid contact at the plate.

"He has also been one of our top relief pitchers."
